Tuesday

I got packages from both my aunt Lisa and Grandma and one from my mom today! I was very happy to have some stuff from home and chicken soup! Lisa also sent me some kids songs on CD that I will play for my students! I spent some time listening to them and getting the lyrics so I can teach them all the words. I also got a couple more books from my grandma that I will be adding to my list of reading one is in Korean so that will come later and it is by a man who is related to my adopted Uncle Randy who was born in Korea ( I am going to try and find them so I can say hello and meet them). The other book is called Lost Names By Richard Kim so I look forward to reading that too. I am still working through my current book but I am busy busy I hope to have it finished by this weekend so I can start in on Lost names. Today I headed for Misha's house but while on the bus I got a call from the teacher I am teaching (who is Misha's aunt) and she said I will teach her today instead of Misha because Misha's mom is sick. So I figured out which subway train to switch to and changed courses for Yoiedo. I can't pronounce her name but we met at the school she teaches at and had a conversation lesson in her classroom. We practiced phone conversations like "hello how are you? I need to make an appointment with the doctor" or " I am calling to ask if you want to go to the movies with me" etc. that took about an hour and then she gave me some workbooks for learning Korean for me to use for practice and some tapes I could listen to only I dont have a tape player yet so thats on the agenda for the next week. We also made plans to go to the big book store this Friday and look at books for her to use for her lesstons then she walked me to the bus stop and I headed home. I got off at Sinchon and walked the 2 miles home from there. Now I'm hungry so I think I'll eat some of that chicken soup I have been craving for weeks!
