So I had a skype phone on the other computer back home but I didn't have one on my lap top... So I set it up today and called Jennie and my mom and I called Maggie but it didn't work. This phone is a really great deal I paid $13.08 =12,000 won for 9 hours of phone service over the next 6 months! Its a great phone so if anyone needs to talk to me let me know and I'll call you fro 2 cents a minute! I talked to Jennie for a while and got good and caught up then talked to my mom and little bro. Things seem to be the same over in the US. I also finished my book!! Finally! I have been busy preparing lessons and meeting new students for interviews. Danny said to tell everyone I am married and 23 years old because 21 is too young and if I say I'm just dating it makes people think I am available. People in Korea date but don't generally move out of their parents home until they are married. If people are never married they stay at home and take care of their parents or the oldest son takes care of the parents.
I am relieved to hear that I will have maybe 5 new students!! I am excited but also very busy I will start reading the Lost Names book hopefully by tomorrow or Wednesday but I have done enough reading for today! I still don't have a camera but thats on my list but I got a bank account set up over here so so when I start making the big bucks (haha) I can have a place to put it. Danny set me up with a credit card and debit card and its all with him a cosigner! I am soooo lucky to have all his help and trust!
Yesterday Eddie and I went grocery shopping and we are learning to cook more foods. It is difficult with only one burner but we are managing okay. When I get home to the US I won't take for granted the fact that we can use many burners on the stove ever again!
I have also created a new obsession with honeydew melon Popsicles! YUM! its a korean food I guess but delicious!!! I'm off to enjoy the day and wander around Seoul a little. It was great to talk to people over the phone! Life is busy but wonderful!
