Kkul Tarea

This candy is called "KKUL TAREA". The package says "KKUL TAREA (honey skein) is a court cake made of ripened honey and malt, which was once presented to the king and valuable guests. It is brewed with the artisan spirit to make 16,000 strands suggesting the prayer for longevity, health, good fortune and wish-fulfillment."

They took a clump of hard boiled honey then poked a hole in the middle then stretched it and then folded and pulled the lump of honey into half and folded it into half again, and continued repeating it. After he repeated that 14 times, the honey was 16,000 threads. Inside there is sesame seeds and almonds crushed together! YUM! The men knew just enough English to say funny things like "WOW" and "I love Jessica Alba" but overall they were very nice and it was hilarious so I had to buy a box of the honey candy since they gave us a good show! I didn't take any pictures but I found some online so I will add those here so you can see what I am talking about.

Also here's the website www.sejongfood.co.kr

Today I met up with Yeon Jae and we had coffee then she took me to a Dok boky restaurant and I tried a new Korean dish!! It was interesting. It was rice cake noodles, ramen noodles, hard boiled eggs, Meedo, and fish skin stuff... scary but it ended up tasting okay. I can't wait to bring my family to all these strange places and show them all the weird things I can eat! We talked for a while. I guess she is having trouble with an American guy who is just using her and then ignoring her. Its so strange how badly they let guys treat them over here!! She brought me a bunch of homemade food so Eddie and I will have a traditional Korean dinner tonight with Kimchi and everything!! I will take pictures of it all! She is so sweet I am lucky to have met her!

I got a new site for learning Korean and I went through the Korean for Fun section and I know all of it! YAY!!
